Tally + Jordan | Sams Point | Catskills Mountains, NY
So when Tally and Jordan reached out to see if we would photograph their micro wedding on a FREAKING MOUNTAIN, it was like the fastest yes you could imagine. Now we’ve photographed a wedding at the Rocky Mountains before so not going to lie, we were a little nervous because sometimes getting to a mountain is a bit of a task, but woah what a breath of fresh air this was. The Catskills might be our new favorite mountain range in the United States because its still a badass mountain, but its actually incredibly easy to get to (Only like 15 minutes of a horrifying drive from the base of the mountain). Also they have a parking lot which was a bit of a surprise.
When we met up with Tally and Jordan just a few moments before we made the trek to Sams Point, we were instantly in problem solving mode because Jordan had a bow tie and needed some assistance, but there was no cell phone receptions and we dont just have bow tie knowledge in our memory bank. LUCKILY the park ranger station was right at the parking lot and they let us use their computer, so we hopped on Youtube and boom, Bianca tied that bow tie like you wouldn’t believe.
So now that our couple was looking fresh to deff, it was time to get these two married. Upon arrive at the ceremony location, it was everything you could imagine. An absolutely gorgeous view of UpState New York, the freshest air you’ve ever breathed, and womp womp, like 15 random people haha. BUT that wasn’t a problem because we are masters of photoshop so pooof, they were gone. They exchanged vows literally 4 feet from the edge of a 80ft drop (horrifying) and then we busted out some family photos and some more portraits for the couple.
Afterwards we made a little 20 minute drive south to the hippest little motel in the world, the Starlite Motel, and Upstate hidden gem. There was an incredibly special guest waiting for us, their dog Scout! Whom sadly passed away about a month after the wedding (this news broke our hearts). But we made sure to be hyper focused on him so we got TONS of photos of him being loved by everyone. Then it was dinner time in the backyard of the motel and it was a vibe. A long family style table with the smell of BBQ wafting in the air, it was literally a perfect end to a perfect micro wedding.
